DALLAS, July 5, 2019 – Avix Aero and Hillwood Airways announce their agreement to install Avix's Strut Data Collection System (SDCS) on Hillwood's 737-700C aircraft. The SDCS solution will be installed in May, 2020 when the aircraft receives regular scheduled maintenance.
“Hillwood Airways has been a great partner to Avix, making one of their aircraft available to us for part of the STC process,” said Kirk Nance, Avix’s Senior Technical Fellow and inventor of the SDCS. “We are excited that in addition to helping us certify our solution, Hillwood Airways will be Avix’s first airline customer to utilize the real-time weight and CG validation capabilities, which the system offers.”
“We are constantly exploring ways to increase the safety, operational performance and reliability of our flight operations for the benefit of our customers, and Avix’s innovative solution provides all three,” said Hillwood Airways President and CEO Ched Bart. “We were pleased to support the Avix team as they amended their STC, and look forward to having their system on our Boeing 737-700C.”
The SDCS system in combination with Avix’s Aero Source Data service, will provide real-time operational weight & balance and center of gravity validation of the aircraft for every departure, touchdown analysis and landing gear strut health monitoring.
