DALLAS, February 2, 2017 – Avix Aero's Strut Data Collection System (SDCS) has been approved for installation on Boeing 737NG aircraft via Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) ST03592NY. The SDCS is an innovative system that collects pressure data from aircraft landing gear. The collected data is analyzed to provide measured validation of an operator’s current weight and balance calculations. Additional landing gear health and servicing status can also be derived from the collected data.
“The STC for our Strut Data Collection System on Boeing 737NG aircraft collects data for analysis never before available to commercial operators. The patented calculations provide operators of the nearly 6,000 commercial NGs with valuable data that can be used to not only validate their current processes, but to build historical data to provide substantiation for proposed changes or expansions to the operators current processes,” said Bill Shields, Avix’s Chief Engineer. “With this STC, Avix will continue with validation testing and commercialization of the system.”
The SDCS includes pressure sensors and manifolds installed on each landing gear integrated to the Data Acquisition and Collection Unit (DACU). Data from the SDCS is analyzed with Avix’s proprietary algorithms to provide operators with validation information.

ABOUT AVIX AERO
Avix Aero, LLC (“Avix”) is an aerospace company producing game-changing commercial aircraft technology and solutions. Avix brings a unique combination of technical innovation, engineering and certification expertise and commercial airline experience that creates pragmatic solutions that improve safety and airline operational efficiency. The company’s inaugural product, the Strut Data Collection System (SDCS), is a leading-edge onboard aircraft weight and balance measurement system that collects landing gear strut pressures from each gear position. This data is analysed using proprietary Avix algorithms for validation of primary load buildup methods, touchdown analysis, and data analytics across flight segments. Avix is based in Dallas, Texas.
